5 VIE HOME

MILAN - INTERIOR RENOVATION

In one of Milan's oldest neighbourhoods, among cobbled lanes and hidden courtyards, this apartment of around 220 sqm sits within a 1970s modernist building. At its heart lies a clear idea: to bring the warm light and rich textures of Moroccan riads into the city, without ever slipping into the souvenir.

The living room gathers around a curved wall, which lends the space depth and conceals a wine cellar and a utility room. Every surface is hand-decorated: a painted palm grove, densely textured walls, a corridor that shifts from burnt sienna to Marrakech red. Italian design provides the counterpoint: Franco Albini's LB7 bookcase, Tacchini, Acerbis, Flos. Alongside them, Fornace Brioni terracotta, rattan and marble. The main suite is conceived as a private hotel, with a bathroom in chocolate-brown zellige and green onyx.

A layered home, tailored to a family who travel often and love to entertain.
